How to Build Garen

Start by purchasing the following items: Boots of Speed, 3 Health Potions, and a Long Sword. When you spawn into the game, head towards your lane.

Once you get to your lane, last hit minions with your auto attack ( AA ) to get gold. If you can manage to do this without getting harassed by the enemy too much, then you are in good shape. Stay behind your minions so that the enemy has a harder time hitting you with their auto attacks and abilities.

Farm up as much gold as possible and try to stay alive. Once you have around 1,200 gold, back off from farming for a bit and go buy some key items. These items are: The Brutalizer, Merc Treads/Ninja Tabi (depending on who you are laning against), Phage, Vampiric Scepter, And finally Frozen Mallet.

Now that you have these key items it is time to start racking up some kills. Garen is an extremely strong melee fighter with great survive-ability due to his ultimate ability “Demacian Justice”. Use this to your advantage and be very aggressive when attacking enemies.
